The 6th General Assembly of the World Scout Parliamentary Union
The 6th WSPU was held in Seoul for four days from November 1 to 4, 2010.
On the second day, President Kang, Young-joong of Korea Scout Association invited some 400 guests from home and abroad to a luncheon. The luncheon served as an excellent opportunity for parliamentarians from Korea and other countries for networking and building friendship. In his speech during the luncheon, President Kang said, “I hope that the 6th General Assembly of the WSPU could serve as a new turning point for the WSPU and help facilitate various cooperative and policy exchanges among parliamentarians.” He also added, “Since we have Mr. Chung, Eui-hwa as our new WSPU President, I believe that we will be able to come together to a wonderful conclusion.”
On the second day of the Assembly, Chung, Eui-hwa who was serving as Acting President was elected as President of WSPU, and a new growth momentum for the WSPU seems to have been created. The General Assembly came to an end with a closing ceremony at 7 pm on November 3, 2010.
