Daekyo Educamp Launches Professional Development Course on Learning Coaching for Slow Learners Based on “Growing Cognition”
Daekyo Educamp announced on the 3rd that it has launched a professional development course for elementary school teachers titled “Learning Coaching for Slow Learners Based on Growing Cognition” on an external online teacher training platform.
Based on Growing Cognition, a cognitive learning textbook for slow learners developed in-house by Daekyo Educamp, the 15-session course is designed to help elementary school teachers understand the cognitive characteristics of slow learners and acquire practical learning coaching techniques that can be applied in the classroom.
A key feature of the course is its approach to understanding the challenges faced by slow learners not simply as issues of concentration or motivation, but as differences in cognitive characteristics and learning processes. The curriculum covers core cognitive functions that influence learning, including attention, information processing, working memory, long-term memory, fluid reasoning, and executive function. It also addresses social-emotional development and ADHD-related topics.
The course provides practical learning coaching strategies that teachers can apply directly in the classroom, including how to present assignments in progressive stages tailored to each student’s learning pace and level, structure learning materials, and support memory and attention. These strategies are designed to help teachers identify students’ learning difficulties more accurately and apply appropriate instructional approaches based on individual needs.
The Learning Coaching for Slow Learners Based on Growing Cognition course was jointly developed by a research team led by Professor Kim Dong-il of Seoul National University and a team of special education experts, enhancing both its professional rigor and practical applicability.
Teachers who complete the course and pass the online assessment will receive a certificate of completion.
A Daekyo Educamp representative said, “As students’ individual learning characteristics and educational needs become increasingly diverse, teachers’ professional expertise in understanding and effectively supporting these differences is becoming more important. We will continue to develop training content that reflects the needs of the education sector, enhance teachers’ professional capabilities, and contribute to creating learning environments tailored to individual students.”
