Daekyo Newif announced on the 1st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Hwacheon County Health Center in Hwacheon County to operate a “Home-Visit Cognitive Care Program” for vulnerable elderly individuals.
This agreement was established to provide customized cognitive training services for seniors at high risk of dementia and those with mild cognitive impairment, and to build a community-based, prevention-oriented dementia management system. Through this collaboration, Daekyo Newif and the Hwacheon County Health Center aim to support the maintenance and improvement of cognitive function as well as emotional stability among elderly residents.
Starting in April, the two organizations will also operate an in-home cognitive care program called “Memory First Step Class” for seniors registered at the Hwacheon County Dementia Relief Center who have cognitive decline or mild cognitive impairment.
The program will be conducted once a week (approximately 30 minutes per session), with trained instructors from Daekyo Newif visiting participants’ homes to provide one-on-one customized cognitive care services. In particular, priority support will be given to elderly individuals living alone and those in transportation-vulnerable areas who have difficulty visiting the center, with a focus on eliminating blind spots in care services.
Before and after program implementation, standardized assessment tools such as the Cognitive Impairment Screening Test (CIST), Subjective Memory Complaints Questionnaire (SMCQ), and Geriatric Depression Scale (SGDS) will be used to analyze cognitive improvement effects and reflected in future service enhancements.
A Daekyo Newif representative stated, “This agreement is meaningful in that it provides direct home-visit cognitive care services to seniors in regions with limited access to medical and care services. We will continue to support healthy daily living in familiar environments by offering customized in-home cognitive care services that reflect local needs.”
Meanwhile, Daekyo Newif continues to provide customized cognitive care services for seniors in cooperation with local governments and companies nationwide, while strengthening its expertise through continuous content development and effectiveness validation.
