Difinition’s AI-Based ‘MunjeG’ Recognized for Effectiveness by the Korean Text Linguistics Society
Difinition, an edtech platform company under the Daekyo Group, announced on April 10 that its AI-based question generation service, MunjeG, has been officially recognized as an effective Korean language education and assessment tool aligned with the current curriculum, following a validation study conducted by the Korean Text Linguistics Society.
Established in 1991, the Korean Text Linguistics Society is one of Korea’s leading academic institutions in the field of linguistics. The society contributes to AI’s understanding of human language through research on text data?one of the core foundations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including technologies like deep learning and ChatGPT.
The validation of MunjeG assessed various aspects such as the validity and difficulty control of generated texts and questions, and their potential for educational use. The evaluation confirmed the solution’s excellence in several key areas: generating texts and questions tailored to learners’ levels and question types from just keyword input, producing differentiated content by grade level, creating optimal educational content by analyzing semantic relationships between input data.
Sa Young-seon, CEO of Difinition, said, “We are honored that MunjeG has been officially recognized for its educational value. Going forward, we will continue to reflect the needs of academia and the educational field to develop MunjeG into a full-fledged AI-powered learning platform that supports teachers and enhances student learning.”
Kim Jung-nam, an advisor to the Korean Text Linguistics Society, noted, “MunjeG’s ability to analyze individual text data and generate high-quality passages and questions is highly impressive. Its technology, which produces well-structured content free of typos or spacing errors in just 6 to 10 seconds, stands out as one of the most innovative and educationally valuable AI services.”
Meanwhile, Difinition was awarded the Education Sector Prize at the 2024 Korea AI Awards and received an “Excellent” rating in the final evaluation of the 2024 AI Voucher Support Program led by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), further demonstrating its expertise and leadership in the field.
