The 31st Eye Level Children’s Literature Award
Dr. Young-joong Kang (chairman of Daekyo Group, founder and chairman of the World Youth and Culture Foundation) attended the 31st Eye Level Children’s Literature Award which was held at Eye Level Hall on December 1.
Daekyo Culture Foundation established this award for the development of children’s literature, the root and hope of Korean literature. It is the largest children’s literature competition in Korea and it has been held annually since 1991.
A total of 143 winners were selected in the categories of "Children's Literature", "Youth Literature", "Children's Poem Literature", "Global Literature" and “Children's Cartoon Contest” at the 32nd Eye Level Children’s Literature Award.
The winner of the grand prize for children's literature was awarded 15 million won and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. In addition, the grand prize is provided with an opportunity to publish a book, and the excellence prize can be published through consultation.
The grand winner of the "Youth Literature" was awarded the Ministry of Education Award and a cultural gift certificate of 1 million won. The grand winner of the " children's Poem Literature " was given 500,000 won for cultural gift certificates.
In the Children's Cartoon Contest, which was held as an additional event of the Eye level Children's Literature Award, a student who created "The Zoo's Most Popular Animal" was honored as the grand prize.
An official from the Daekyo Cultural Foundation said, "For the past 31 years, the Eye Level Children's Literature Award has contributed to the development of children's literature so that children can grow up bright and positive," adding, "We will continue to strive to establish ourselves as the 'largest literary competition in the world' through various genres and new forms of attempts."
