Chairman Kang, Young-joong of Daekyo Group Discusses with National Assembly Speaker Chung, Ui-hwa on
Chairman Kang, Young-joong of Daekyo Group paid a visit to National Assembly Speaker Chung, Ui-hwa in his office in Yeouido, Seoul on February 26th (Thursday) to have an in-depth discussion on ways to develop sport for all.
As a bill to integrate Korean Olympic Committee and Korea Council of Sport for All was passed by the Standing Committee in the National Assembly on Feb. 24th, the meeting was aimed at discussing on ways to finally pass the bill in the plenary session and to further develop the Korea Council of Sport for All in the future.
The bill on promoting sport for all was proposed to the parliament by National Assemblyman Kim, Jang-sil of Saenuri Party in February last year, and the Speaker had been working together with Assemblymen Seo, Sang-ki of Saenuri Party and Ahn, Min-seok of New Politics Alliance for Democracy to support the enactment of the bill.
During their discussion, Chairman Kang and the Speaker shared their views saying, “Harmony and balance is important to smoothly and effectively integrate the two organizations, and they must think deeply and have discussions in order to truly advance sports in Korea.”
Regarding the bill on the promotion of sport for all Chairman Kang requested that it should be passed quickly saying, “All Korean people need to understand the sport for all as one of the basic rights to lead a happy life, and the sport committee must build a system that can help build a firm foundation for our people to freely enjoy sport for all.”
Furthermore, they shared their views on the Act on Humanistic Education, which was passed by the Assembly’s plenary session on December 29, 2014.
The Act on Humanistic Education, which had been proposed by the Speaker, was enacted with the aim to nurture citizens with proper personality, thereby contributing to social development. Chairman Kang, who has been leading for the past 39 years an education company Daekyo with the purpose of realizing a “healthy individual, healthy family and healthy society” said that he completely agrees with the idea of the act.
They both emphasized on the importance of humanistic education, and they saw eye to eye on the fact that all members of society must think about ways to further promote humanistic education.
