‘Korea Olympiad 2011 & 19th Eye Level Olympiad’ was held in

President Dr. Kang, Young Joong attended ‘Korea Olympiad for gifted children 2011 award’ which was held in Noonnoppi Boramae Center on December 17. This Olympiad was created to discover those gifted children in mathematics and science in the nation.

Approximately 20,000 students took part in this competition from 26 examination halls in the nation on October 8th and total 627 gifted children were discovered.

At this award ceremony, total 12 students awarded grand prize in mathematics and science. Certificate of award and the opportunity to attend training abroad will be provided to the best students in each subject. Also 36 students include the gold award winner Han, Ji Bum (Mathematics) and Yang, Seung Soo (Science) will receive the certificate of award and the opportunity to attend training abroad as well.

Meanwhile, the 19th Eye Level Olympiad award was also held at the same date. The Eye Level Olympiad and Korea Olympiad started out as the National Children’s Mathematics Olympiad in 1989 and it was divided into two Olympiad in 2000.

The Eye Level Olympiad is the largest events in Korea where around 2 million Eye Level students engage in competition. Both Olympiad were created in order to discover gifted students and to help them to take a step closer toward realizing their dreams.
