Letter from the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon.

On behalf of Korea Scout Association, President Dr. Kang, Young Joong sent a letter to Ban, Ki-moon to congratulate his selection as a UN Secretary General in consecutive terms.

Korea Scout Association has received an answer to the letter from the UN Secretary General.

Dear Dr. Kang,

I really appreciate your kind words of support and encouragement.

I have devoted myself over the last five years for the causes of peace and security, development and human rights enshrined in the Charter and believe that we have had significant achievements.

I was also convinced that it is my historical mission to see through what I have started and I made public my humble intention to make myself available to serve the international community for five more years.

Fortunately, the response from the Member States and international community has been all positive and forthcoming which made my determination even firmer for service for the humanity.

Now the Security Council and the General Assembly have endorsed my second term unanimously, I will renew my sincere resolve to be a leader of this august Organization which can really deliver what the international community needs. And I will continue to listen to all the Member States and other actors well beyond the re-election process, and prepare myself for my ongoing endeavour to make the UN truly "a stronger organization for a better world."

Again, my heartfelt thanks for your strong support.
