Daekyo Acquires Remote Education Institution EduSquare Group
Daekyo announced on the 9th that it has acquired the remote education institution EduSquare Group, renamed it to Daekyo EduSquare, and incorporated it as a subsidiary. Through this acquisition, Daekyo aims to strengthen its lifelong education services, offering educational solutions throughout the entire life cycle.
EduSquare Group operates Haemil Remote Lifelong Education Center, a credit bank system institution officially approved by the Ministry of Education. The center offers a wide range of degree programs, such as social welfare and business administration, as well as certification courses for lifelong educators, social workers, and more.
With this acquisition, Daekyo plans to establish a comprehensive lifelong learning system for adults and seniors. The company will expand its adult education business by supporting adult degree acquisition, reemployment programs, and online specialized learning. This initiative aligns with Daekyo’s vision of becoming “the largest school in the world.”
Additionally, the acquisition is expected to enhance the competitive edge of Daekyo Newif, which operates caregiver training centers and fosters senior care professionals through private certification programs. The newly acquired remote lifelong education institution will train professionals such as social workers, who will then be connected with Daekyo Newif’s long-term care centers nationwide, creating a virtuous cycle of education and employment.
A Daekyo representative stated, “Through this acquisition, Daekyo has secured an online adult learning channel and laid the foundation for expanding lifelong education. We also plan to grow our lifelong learning business by linking it with Daekyo’s nationwide offline network,” and added, “As Korea enters a super-aged society, we aim to establish a unique competitive edge in our service offerings and become a leading company in the adult and senior education market.”
Meanwhile, last year Daekyo acquired Howlpot, a premium pet care company, expanding into new business areas with a portfolio that now spans from infants to seniors?and even pets.
