Global Education Forum 2014 and the 23rd Eye Level Education Awards
This year’s Global Education Forum and Eye Level Education Awards were held on 20th of November at Eye Level Hall with great success.
‘Implications of character and creativity on future education’ was the main theme of this Forum and Mr. Charles Fadel, the chair of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee of OECD, participated as a key note speaker and presented the direction of the way that 21st century education should move forward.
Mr. Charles Fadel emphasized that creativity and character is not things that cannot be taught by education so it should have activities outside of spot of education which is normally biased in traditional learning. ‘
Also, Mr. Colm Flanagan (head of Seoul “Foreign School), Mr. Chung Yoon (Principal, Korea Science Academy of KAIST) and Ms. Stacy Birdsell (Co-Founder, Democracy Prep Public Schools) presented the importance of creativity and character education through case presentation and discussion.
The 23rd Eye Level Education Award gave away the award to total 9 educator include primary, middle, special-education and global education sectors. The award was given to those educators who are continuously contributing for the development of education in the spot of education Including Mr. Seth Andrew (Democracy Prep Public Schools Founder) who introduced Korean education model in ghettos in USA,
