Dear respectable members of badminton family!Badminton players and related personnel who came from home and abroad to participate in these championships despite of cold weather.

I like to extend my sincere welcome to you all. Badminton is a sport most loved by the people across the world and one of the most popular sports. In particular badminton in Korea despite of its short history won excellent marks at Olympic Games and at many international events thus played an important role in displaying our sports ability across the world.

Also as a daily sports its basis has been broadened extensively now.
All players and officials of teams from across the world visiting Korea now!
You have striven hard for honor of your country and yourself for the past year and shed your sweat.

At this championships being held in this time near end of a year
I sincerely wish you may achieve good result through exhibiting your best skills and ability which have been honed and cultivated until now and also wish you may demonstrate wonderful sports to lovers of badminton by displaying your sportsmanship until end of the contest.

Furthermore I wish these championships may become an opportunity to broaden contest experience to players and I believe it will contribute to broadening basis of badminton by heightening interest in badminton by sports lovers and fans.

I wish success of these championships being held in Suwon city as one of series of qualification competition for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games next year. I like to extend my true appreciation to Mayor Kim Yong Seo of Suwon city and President Song Kwang Suc of Kyeongin Ilbo who made it possible to hold this tournament in the beautiful Suwon City.

In closing I wish to express my words of thanks to Chun Jae Won, President of Korea Business Badminton Federation and people who were instrumental in successful preparation of these championships and specially to Suwon citizens who demonstrated warmth in welcoming all players from across the world with open arms
and I wish for their health and continuous success in future.
