Chairman Kang, Young-joong Visits Paris for BWF EB Meeting and the Badminton World Championship
BWF President Kang, Young-joong visited Paris, France from August 27 to 30, 2010. Chairing the BWF Executive Board meeting, President Kang discussed with EB members the directions towards which world badminton must head, including the organization’s development projects and changes of its constitution. In particular, President Kang emphasized on further development in and investment into those countries that are less developed in terms of sports.
On August 29, President Kang also attended the Badminton Europe’s ADM in which some 30 members from the European CC took part. In the meeting, Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen took over the Confederation’s presidency from Tom Bacher. President Kang congratulated them both and said that he expects closer collaboration between the BWF and Badminton Europe in the future.
In addition, President Kang visited Pierre de Coubertin Stadium where the Championship was being held in order to give his words of encouragement to over 200 volunteers and to congratulate the successful opening of the Championship. He also participated in the awards ceremony and encouraged the players.
