Daekyo’s Woman Football Player Goes to Japan for A 6-Months Training
Yu, Yeong-sil (33 years old) of Daekyo Kangaroos Women’s Football Club will be going to Kobe Inac, Japan’s primary women’s football league, for a 6-months leadership training for the first time in Korea.
From 1993 to 2008, Yeong-sil has been playing for Korea women’s football national team. She is truly a living history of Korean women’s football.
She began playing football in 1992 when she was in 10th grade, was selected for national team in 1993 and participated in 65 international “A”matches, a record-high for woman football player..
“I was a bit worried because I had no specific plans for my future after retirement, but the company has kindly decided to send me to our sister team Kobe Inac for a training,” said Yu, Yeong-sil, expressing her gratitude to the company’s generous support.
Yeong-sil, who will for the 6 months period be experiencing Japan’s advanced system, also added, “As for now, children’s sports education in Korea is relatively poor. I wish I could learn Japan’s advanced management system for youth clubs and professional teams and help promote Korea’s women’s football community.”
