The 9th “Noonnoppi Cup” Jeju Daily Badminton Open Started on July 11, 2009

The 9th “Noonnoppi Cup” Jeju Daily Badminton Open, the island’s most prestigious “Shuttlecock Festival”, was launched on July 11th and lasted for two days in various places around the island including the Halla Gymnasium and Jeju Sports Center.

This joyous festival of badminton lovers was co-hosted by Daekyo (Represented by Kang, Young-joong, Chairman of the corporation cum President of BWF) and Jeju Daily and was organized by the Jeju Badminton Association. The event was held under the auspices of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and was sponsored by Yonex Korea.

This year, a total of 1366 participants from 683 teams of 48 clubs, compared to 1032 participants from 33 clubs, took part in the event to demonstrate their skills.

Exhibition games, played by some players of Daekyo Noonnoppi Women’s Badminton Club (led by Seo, Myeong-weon), where Park, Seon-yeong, Lim, Seul-bi and former national athletes Ju, Hyeon-hi and Ho, Seul-gi belong, demonstrated wonderful and marvelous skills of the sport.
