Greetings to all BWF members! (English)
We have come to an agreement last May in Guangzhou that the BWF should be further developed in a more transparent and rational manner. And with regards to this, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you all for your choice and commitment for making a brighter future of BWF.
This is a new beginning. Rather than pursuing our individual interests, we all should come together to think of and implement plans to make badminton more popular around the world and play a positive role for the development of each community.
One of the most important keys to that end would be to rationally secure finance so that we can conduct development projects for the sport efficiently. We should be able to suggest creative sponsorship marketing ideas for companies to use the sport as a marketing communications tool. In addition, we cannot neglect our efforts to strengthening the representation of badminton in the IOC because the Olympic Games is the most efficient way for us to promote our sport around the globe. Therefore, I would like to ask all of you for your active participation and a variety of ideas related to these matters.
Honorable members of the BWF!
I am a great fan of sports. I support the Olympic Spirit, through which we seek a peaceful and better world through sports. I dream of a world where anyone can freely and without difficulties engage themselves in sports activities.
People, regardless of disability, age or gender, should be able to enjoy sports. Sports never belongs to non-disabled people exclusively.
In this context, though the scale may not be big, we the BWF will be supporting the 2009 World Championships in Korea of IBAD. And I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your continued support in bringing badminton to be included as one of the Paralympic Games. On my part, I, both as President of BWF and as an individual, will continue to make efforts to further develop sports for the disabled.
Furthermore, I strongly believe that promoting sports for youth and women is one way of contributing to building a better world for all, and there is no better sports than badminton to this end.
Once again, I ask for your continued support for and attention to making badminton take firm root as a sport for all. Thank you.
