IBF appoints Korea’s Young-joong Kang as its new president

Sin Hua News Agency announced the appointment of Korea’s Young-joong Kang as the new president of IBF during its regular general meeting held in Beijing on May 8. Incumbent Vice President Punchikuran and IBF Director Llying Wei from China were reelected to another term.
Korea’s Soo-hyun Bang, a gold medalist for the Women’s Singles during the Atlanta Olympics, was named one of the 17 directors.
Young-joong Kang(55) takes over the reins from former President Korn Dabbaransi. Kang, who is also the Chairman of ABC and Korea Badminton Association, shall hold office as IBF president for four years.
