The welcoming ceremony for the Olympic badminton athletes was held

The welcoming ceremony for the Olympic badminton athletes was held
by Korea Badminton Association at the Plaza Hotel on August 26, 2008.

Dr. Young-joong Kang, the President of Badminton World Federation and Korea Badminton Association gave a welcoming address at the event.
“Our Olympic athletes contributed greatly to Korea’s best-ever result in the Beijing Games. I am very pleased and honored to be here with you. You are the real heroes of our country, who realized all the Korean people’s dreams of Olympics. I deeply appreciate the Olympic athletes’ tremendous efforts and people’s unsparing supports in the meantime. Let’s make more efforts to achieve another success at 2012 London Olympics for recompensing people for their encouragement.” Dr. Kang said. Dr. Kang awarded 300 million won in cash to two gold medalists in the badminton mixed doubles.
