2008 Peace Trekking was held

2008 Peace Trekking was held from 30 July to 6 August for 8 days with 155 youth participants and 25 leaders. This event was hosted by the Korea Scout Assocaition and sponsored by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Families and the Ministry of National Defence. This program was opened as the 1st Youth Program designated by the National Youth Committee in 2007.

On 30 July, there was an Opening Ceremony at the Seoul City Hall Park for wishing the completion of the trekking. At the ceremony, Dr. Young-Joong Kang, the President of KSA, said, 'The young people will be required a lot of patience with staying without air-conditioning system and the Internet. But I am sure they will finish what they will do because you are young.'
