Chairman Young-Joong Kang is a strong believer in the interdependence of business and society. Customers belong to society and so a company cannot and should not ignore society. As head of a business himself, Kang has undertaken several social projects based on a strong sense of social responsibility. Under Kang, Daekyo joined the 1% Club of the Federation of Korean Industries. By doing so, Daekyo contributes one percent of the company's net income to corporate social responsibility projects. When Daekyo was still a young company, Kang set up a cultural foundation to support the provision of scholarships and the initiation of other activities beneficial to children. Daekyo is also involved in several other social and charitable projects, all as part of its good corporate citizenship program.
